Cheap school to Get a JOC [Archive]

Hey guys,

Just a quick question if you don't mind. I am flying a turboprop and have recently been offered a jet job but they asked me for my JOC which I do not have as I only have an MCC. Can you guy suggest any place within Europe were I can get this done very cheap.

Thanks for your reply I know Simtech but they are very expensive. I want to find one of the cheapest places within Europe. Simtech are very good but expensive. I'm only doing a JOC so I just want somewere cheap

There are various ATOs who offer stand alone short JOC courses in the UK.
By the time travelling etc is taken into account the total cost mounts.

Cheap and cheerful if not always the answer. There is quite a transition from turbo prop to jet, and a fixed base realistic sim would serve you well.
It really depends on the new type I would suggest.

Is there any standardisation of unregulated JOC courses?

I think you have answered your own Q.
It can be one session, or more than one, with instruction by a person approved by the provider, but not necessarily a holder of a MCCI certificate.

The only time the JOC is regulated is when it is embedded into a MCC course, and often referred to as a MCC/JOC course when 9 sessions are not uncommon.

Thanks. We have stopped offering stand alone MCC and or JOC due to the regulatory and trainee confusion and only offer MCC within an initial TR. JOC is even more confusing.

To us, it was becoming too much of a cash cow as opposed to a genuine need.
