I can't seem to see anything relating to messages, I clicked on a user and selected send message. I was then prompted with the message form which I filled out and pressed send but I've no idea if it was sent as nothing was displayed when I pressed sen, I was just taken back to the thread.

Any ideas?

Probationary Restrictions

That’s how it is - as a new poster your posts are checked by a human being before they appear. It lasts for a limited number of posts.

Works purely to cut out the scamsters, crooks, malware merchants and lonely Nigerian ladies. Same reason you can’t use the Private Messaging system until you have an established posting history.

All the best,

Out of curiosity, could you quantify the "limited number of posts"? Thanks

the whole point is to keep the number variable so you have flexibility..................

I think I have the same problem. I'm trying to start a thread, but nothing seems to happen after I submit it. Is this because of the probationary rule? I understand why you have it, it makes sense, but I couldn't find anything in the FAQ's about it. One more question, how do I get my posts if I can't post. Thanks in advance

I'd suggest building up your "credit rating" by posting on a few of the well-loved threads such as Manston Airpoort, the Air Canada crash at Halifax and even JetBlast. The mods will quickly upgrade you as they can't face reading even more of the answers your post will generate.................. :E:E

lol, thanks Harry, although your post might have blown my chances

I'm having the same problem so I hesitate writing any long involved posts as whether they appear seems to be rather hit and miss.

Hi there,

This is my first post.

I was reading the Virgin vs BA posts and one comment I took interest in. Having tried to private message the particular individual, it sent and I got an email to say I've received a message back and inbox full. I deleted the message I sent to try and clear space but my inbox still reads 0. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot
