The new style of weather forecasts due to start in November.
Note:
Issued every 6 hours.
GAF will not be amended if weather declines, only if it improves.
Will have grid wind and weather (similar to grid LSALT).
NOTAMS, and PRD will need to be downloaded separately from the GAF.
Supposed to be written in clear English rather than weather-speak.
Supposedly an initiative by BOM, not CASA, but is to bring all of Australia in line with ICAO. Apparently follows Europe's example (where GA is dead and buried, and they have just about cleaned up after the wake).
Not quite sure of the improved safety that GAFs will bring, but I live in Hope (its a suburb of Denial).
