Just booked a return flight now - selected flights - entered details and paid - "there is a problem" - tried to pay again - "unable to process your payment" - started again from scratch. The flight details had been meticulously saved and the most perfect autopopulation of details was effected - with one small difference, that the price of one of the legs had now gone up by £30. Oh well I never, I would never have imagined that, would I.

What sort of basis are these clowns operating on that they can't reserve the seat for you at the price it's displayed at without either getting it completely wrong or hawking it off to the next punter before you've even managed to pay? Smacks distinctly of skulduggery here, not to mention the deliberately misleading reasons for the failure. I also remember, in the distant past, following a similar process and imagined the flight had been booked, but when I got to the airport was left digging deep into my wallet in order to be able to fly.

So when booking Lufthansa - beware!

Works the other way too. I put in DUB-SZG and was quoted a crazy price. Closed window. Started again and got it for what I would usually pay. Not sure what it is with LH. But invariably they're good value for money. IMHO anyway.

Computers get programmed and execute that. So it is entirely possible that there was 1 seat left at that price and someone bought it whilst you were in the process. If they completed 1 second before you - then they get it. Not nice but, I guess, part of the price we pay for the convenience of booking on line and choosing everything without going to a shop, or hanging on the phone for half an hour.
