Hi, anyone has done the above flight test? Anything that you can share on how the test is being conducted, i.e. profile? Specifically, I would like to know for the ground component before going into the simulator, are we required to complete a flight plan, fuel plan, flight notification, loading system and take-off and landing distance/performance calculation, using the manual charts/trim sheets, manual loadsheets etc? Are we allowed to use computer software for fuel and flight planning, and EFB/OPT for performance computation? Thanks in advance for sharing!

Hi, anyone has done the above flight test?

Don't know about the ATPL flight test on an NG. ATPL flight tests have been conducted in the B737-300 simulator at Ansett Aviation Training in Melbourne. Duration three hours simulator time for the test. Suggest check their website for details.

Did a renewal last year in Ansett 73 Classic, had rung around all the SIM centres preferring an NG but none for external hire.

Unless I missed someone Ansett Classic may be your only 737 option, in house examiners for renewal, not sure about an initial rating.

Cheers. :ok:

Thanks galdian, I already have the rating, but on my CPL. I have to do a flight test to get an ATPL under the Part 61 rules. In the Flight Examiner Handbook paragraph 12.3.4 Assessment of flight planning, it says "As part of the flight test, the applicant must complete a flight plan, fuel plan, flight notification, loading system, take-off and landing distance/performance calculation." I was wondering if you know how do they want us to do the above tasks? EFB/OPT or computer software for flight/fuel planning allow? The last thing I really want to do is to plan a route they gave me using the manual methods like the CASA ATPL Flight planning on the B727. Also, is manual loadsheet/trim sheet/ performance charts required or we are allowed to use the OPT for performance calculations? Thanks.

Mine was a straight forward IPC renewal, sounds like initial is a whole different matter, sorry can't be of any assistance.

Good luck.

I have just had an impeccably professional experience with Green Dot Aviation in Bangkok on A330 Sim test for CASA AR/IR renewal. They have access to A320 and are looking for B737 Sim and CASA approved TRE’s based on requests on this post. They have access to ATO’s in Australia who can conduct the oral part of 61-1512 and present the documentation to CASA. The Simulator part is done in Bangkok. I can’t price the B737 but for the A330 paid $1800 US for two hours practice and US$2500 for the test asls being about two hours. Could not get a Sim or TRE or sim buddy in Australia or USA or Singapore or Hong Kong or Malaysia. Green Dot provided me with everything I needed and guided me through 22 pages of perfect documentation for CASA. Basically, I would never have been able to renew my licence without their help. Everyone else said get your own TRE and sim buddy otherwise don’t bother contacting us. Green Dot provided me with everything I needed. All I had to do was PASS.
Contact [email protected] and explain your requirements. I am sure that they can fulfil your needs.
