Probably not locals.
No age discrimination laws in most parts of ME. But the locals are always protected.

Have heard this from a few pursers. When your time at EK is "up", the last contract is for 1 year to allow you to find a job.
I know of one purser the company had been trying to get rid of for quite some time, and she is now no longer flying.

ROY : not quite. Bahrain Labour Laws do not permit "ExPat" employment after the age of 65. Many ways round it, of course. For pilots, of course there is age discrimination ; most Regulatory Authorities won't certify after age 65 anyway. Actually, thank heavens. Would hate to see my Captain boarding via a highloader at age 88 !
