I have been asked to go to Luxembourg for an interview for the 767 on Globaljet's books.
I am having to pay my own travel and accommodation which is not a great start:=
Any one have any info on this operation or what to expect /
Ive heard mixed things but mostly rumours so any insight would be great :ok:

As you wrote great start for a "great company"... standard practice for GBJ Lux , they don't want to spend any euro to see your face . Then do not expect news after your interview !

As already mentioned, paying for flights and hotel is standard practice for Globaljet and we may not agree with it, but it's pretty much standard practice for most bizjet operators in Europe.
If they like you, and want to offer you a contract, expect a call fairly soon after interview. If they don't, then don't expect to hear anything back at all.
They have been recruiting on and off for the 76 over past few years, no smoke without fire? Perhaps worth doing some more research?

I'm in Luxembourg this week to meet a Mr A.David. Thankfully the flight is not expensive from Germany. But i agree not a great start.
I will listen to what is on offer but I have heard some very mixed things. And it seems to be a revolving door on this aircraft?

If they know you are coming and now know of your unhappiness about having to pay for travel, they might not like that which could put them off having you. Whether you agree or disagree about the process, surely discuss after the fact not before!

If you're meeting mr David, you'll be doing all the talking - I've never had such an awkward interview - just the two of us, and he barely said a word. In my case, they were fishing for crew for a client they never bagged - and wasted my time and money in the bargain. That said, i know a guy on a gulfstream, and he's reasonably happy there. DFO is a bit more engaging apparently.

Industry standard or not. I agree with the the OP - it's not a great start and does make for a first impression. If the employer does not want to spend the cash on the invitation then maybe a Skype call interview would be a better way to "eliminate" a candidate - then if needed that can lead to a "face to face" interview - paid for by the company of course! Good luck with the job.

On my case was exactly the opposite. They paid everything and they came back to me on time

I also happen to be lined up for an interview next week for a different aircraft. A little surprised by the fact that they expect me to cough up a couple hundred euros without even having told me the slightest detail as per the specifics of the operation. You seem to have gone through the same just recently. Do you have any insights that could help shed some light ? How was your interview? any atpl questions? did they give specific info about the operations, terms and conditions of the contract? If so, do you think you can give details about that? It was a very strange meeting. I was kept waiting 40 mins as expected. Then no real interview process other than me trying to do all of the talking. Very little information received about contract, salary, benefits. I was told this would only be forthcoming if an offer was proposed. No technical or other questions. In all fairness it was a cordial meeting but with little information forthcoming.
I have heard from a friend who already works at GJ that they have a guy with shall we say human factors issues which is allegedly the reason for the revolving door on this aircraft. But of course this is a rumour network :confused:
Anyway I don't think this would be for me and i will put it down to experience.

It was a very strange meeting. I was kept waiting 40 mins as expected. Then no real interview process other than me trying to do all of the talking. Very little information received about contract, salary, benefits. I was told this would only be forthcoming if an offer was proposed. No technical or other questions. In all fairness it was a cordial meeting but with little information forthcoming.
I have heard from a friend who already works at GJ that they have a guy with shall we say human factors issues which is allegedly the reason for the revolving door on this aircraft. But of course this is a rumour network :confused:

I was warned on 2 points.... Davide will deliberately keep you waiting a very long time, and if you are not french..., good luck!
So, after a very expensive air ticket and hotel I was kept waiting 2 hours! Davide said virtually nothing during the interview. It was more a case of me interviewing him. But at the end he offered me the job so I went home happy.
Days turned into weeks with nothing heard so I finally contacted Globaljet. They responded without knowing my name stating they have no vacancies at all for flight crew!
Never have I been treated with such disrespect at job application anywhere like this. I wouldn't piss on davide if he were on fire. As a firm believer in karma he has one hell of a future coming his way?

I had an interview some years back with this joker, lot of expense to sit and attempt any type of interaction, pompus misfit that thinks he is better than all. For all my effort an e-mail some 6 weeks later to say 'we have no vacancies that meet your requirements'.
My requirement is a reasonable amount of respect. By the way didn't his team decide on a kack brown pilot uniform..........say no more
