Good morning,
Having spent 5 years in engineering, I'm looking to change career into flight operations. I'm currently 22 years old, have always had a passion for aircraft and aviation, I would like some advice on what's the best way of getting into the industry? I've heard, specially in flight operation they recruit internally instead of externally, Could someone shed some light on this subject.

There are various foot in the door ways you could use..

Get a job with one of the numerous airport handling agents, start at the bottom and work your way up.

I know people who have got in by joining airport security.. and once in applied for things from there.

Look at the bizjet/airlines and see if you can join as an Ops assistant and work your way from there.

hi, definitely apply @ some general aviation operator...if you're new to the job, your chances are way better with those small operators than with the big airliners.

i've been dispatching aircraft on of europe's larger general aviaton operators for the last 6 years but i also know some ppl that are with the national flag carrier. both have pros and cons obviously.

if you want to know more, drop me a personal message.
