Can anyone tell me whether the CAA are still doing EEG's as standard? I remember a rumour here that they were going to stop doing them ...

Thanks in advance

A week a go they were.

As far as I remember the cost of the old UK CAA class 1 was around £200, which increased to £400 when it became the JAR one. This huge price increase was apparantly to pay for the newly introduced EEG.

I've had an EEG done by the RAF, the CAA will accept it, but only knock £80 off the cost of the inital class 1. Unfair maybe, however I guess the CAA have a monopoly in the area of issuing medicals, licence's etc, they can charge what ever randomly expensive amount they want.
