Any particular reason behind this visit?

I'm sure it was just for the fun of it...

Probably to negotiate the conclusion of the A380 misadventure and to plead for good price on 350s with a CCQ option.

He tries to keep the slave ship in high waters.
Too bad he doesn't realise that his beloved ship is out of control!

HRH probably went to look at the completed whales that he decided he didn't want for a while. He'll head down to Toulouse next to take a look at the other ones gathering dust down there.

With the 787 announcement coming at the Dubai Airshow this year, I agree that is has to be regarding the 380.

Airbus can't or won't deliver the 150 plus airframes ordered / optioned . EK hold out for the penalty payment (a lot) as per contract , even if they don't want the aircraft .... high finance made simple , just another business plan . Nothing to do with yields , fuel burn impracticality etc . The world of accountancy works in mysterious ways ...

Almost 100 now , only 40 more. Take new ones and retire old heavy cows . New bar , new CRC , new wing !

I love it. It used to be tight getting a seat subload with all the overbooking. Apparently someone in the office figured out "loads" are not the same thing as "yield". Who knew? Now the loads are so light I have no trouble getting on with the SRC's I have left to burn.

Can't see how moving 100 people or so around in a 380 (as on my last trip) is sustainable, but not my problem.

Totally agree, not my problem. If I was a head bobbling bean counter I would be looking for another job !
