I have read posts on here before where people have been discussing HSBC loans, but I have never heard anyone says that they got £30,000.

Is this some new arrangement between OATS and HSBC, or is this just the maximum amount HSBC will loan anyone, but you have to have a 5* credit rating and be the Pope.

No, you just have to show you are commited by putting up security on the loan. They won't lend you more than £30k without it.

Having found the relevant page on HSBC's website, it does say that you can borrow up to the full course fee and up to £5000 per year for living.

Guess not many people are suitable for £50,000 course fees + £7,000 for accommodation etc. Guess I'll find out in 12 months when I graduate uni and start to properly investiaget ways to finance my training.
