It is with regret that I notify ex Ansett Flight Engineer and later First Officer Gary Staff has passed away. Gary later went on to become a 737 Captain before retiring from aviation. Gary wrote several books about the German Navy and had a wealth of aviation and German navy knowledge.
I did my first night / IFR rating, :O while standing in the back of a truck in the darkness, while holding all the household furnishings and stopping them from falling over - while Gary was driving - while moving house. Gary thought this was hilarious. Always having a laugh and a tremendous bloke. Gary was 63 and will be greatly missed.
