The Australian Friday 21 July (Aviation Section). Air Niugini advertising for B767 First Officers based in Port Moresby. Require ICAO ATPL. Level 6 English. Multi crew experience. Total aeronautical experience 4000 hours. Time on type 1500 hours. Night 400 hours.
Compare those requirements with some overseas airlines crewing wide bodies as first officers with 500 hours TT. To be based in POM would surely be the pits..

Had 7 years there...It was ...interesting...
Enjoyed the experience although have never missed it.

I think you will find PX are an all jet operation now.
F70's replaced the DHC8-400's.
Do they still have an order for the B787-8 ?

4000 hrs total time and 1500 Hours on type would be enough for a command in most Asian countries. I'm sure they will be swamped with applications.
I don't think they really expect applications. They just want to say that their inability to crew aircraft is caused by a world wide pilot shortage. Utter bunk of course!!!

In the old days...pre mid eighties the original requirement for an f/o was 2000hrs F28 time if I remember correctly:ok:
