Does anyone know for definite why Malaga has an airport code of AGP, and what the AGP stands for?

Did some searching on the net the other day and could only find a detailed Spanish website (Malaga Aiport actually) that I just about managed to translate as it seemed the building was designed by somebody Picasso (not Pablo!) therefore the A may be Aeropuerto, the P may be Picasso and the G?

So, does anyone know?

Cheers,
KatieC.

Just an FYI. I work for a company in the US selling European rail tickets and we use the European station codes. The generic code for Malaga is ESAGP (with the ES being for Spain).
