Hi.
I have been flying the AS350 for the last 10 years, and is now looking into changing fields.
Tired of flying the AS350, Tired of being Chief Pilot.

Does anyone know of any companies that hire civilian trained pilots in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa,......

Just looking to spend a few years doing something different than the last ten years.
Spent some time as a Civilian Contractor 11-12 Years ago and I wish to go back.

3500hrs + Total
3300hrs + PIC on the AS350
AS350 and AS355
EASA CPL H and ME IR with ATPL Theory
FAA CPL H and IR

Try Canadian Helicopters Ltd, Edmonton. Not sure if they still have machines still out there but the following copied from their current web page.

USTRANSCOM, Afghanistan

Canadian Helicopters provided helicopter support services to the US Department of Defence in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2014. We provided Bell 212 and Sikorsky S61N helicopters for the transportation of passengers, Class I to X supplies, and mail to Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) throughout the Area of Operations. The aircraft were supplied with full support including pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, loadmasters/ground crew, administration and logistics support.

AAR corp but being American I think you need various security clearances etc, they have a careers page if you're really keen.

AAR won't countenance a non American in war zones. They told me exactly that years ago, so unless something has changed you won't get past the initial contact. Try the UN (link below).

I'd contact a few NGOs directly. Try the like of:

ECHO - Jobs and opportunities - European Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/echo/who/jobs-and-opportunities_en)

WFP - Front page | World Food Programme (http://www1.wfp.org/)

UNHCR - UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency (http://www.unhcr.org/uk/)

etc

The UN (and all of its agencies) do not hire pilots at all....all aircraft contracted by the UN are owned and operated by various companies.

One of the requirement for pilots flying on UN-aircraft ist time on type, depending upon the size of the aircraft between 500 or 50 for Copilots...

There will be hardly anyone hiring a non-ex-military pilot without type rating or experience to fly in a warzone; there is a reason why ex-military are hired for those, because they have the knowledge and experience that civil trained pilots do not have..

Hi.
in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa,......

Africa is a country?

Anyway, this sounds uncomfortably like voyeurism. Best of luck.

Spot on on this one - the departure from the norm is too great
