A newborn baby has been awarded free flights for life after it was born prematurely mid-flight. The baby boy was born yesterday on a Jet Airways flight travelling from Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Kochi. The flight was diverted to Mumbai after his mother went into premature labour. Loganair used to claim (maybe still does) to hold the record for the number of in-flight deliveries.

All us Aussies think of a heatwave warning at low to mid 30's is "how cute!" :} Mid 30's is merely slightly uncomfortable, back in February it snuck up to 46.9 in the shade here in Sydney's west.

Our houses and venues are not geared for much over 27. I'm told it is too expensive to but in air-con that can deal with a week of 30+. So the rare times that it happens - it is uncomfortable.

When a baby was born to a Kuwaiti lady on our BAC 1-11 on route from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, in the mid 1970's when we counted our delays in days rather than hours, I issued a press release about how wonderful it was, how well-trained the crew were, how pleased we all were, etc etc.

The Gulf News ran with it as their front page splash next day. But the headline was...

GULF AIR - AN EARLY ARRIVAL AT LAST!

Probably due to Loganair running Air Ambulance flights for the Scottish Ambulance Service before they got their own aircraft.
