Don't you just love it. MS updates Win 10, you come back to your computer, log in and find they have reset Microsoft Edge.

You restore all your settings.

Next month MS updates Win 10, you come back to your computer, log in and find they have reset Microsoft Edge.

Once again MS is shoving their idea of what I want to see when I open IE. Then I try a search and once again s*dding Bing pops up.

Easy peasey, Click anonymous dot dot dot top right of screen.
Drop down menu, right at the bottom, and potentially off screen Settings
Click Settings, another drop down menu, no clues yet.
Scroll down, click View Advanced Settings, no clues yet, scroll down what seems an endless list and there is Change Search Engine

Job Done. Well not quite.

The next option is Clear Bing Search History this then does anything but. A new screen opens in Edge and all your search history is listed but could I find a Select All and Delete no, just a little cross against each item - like January, March, May, June.

Clearing one at a time is a complete pain. However Google to the rescue. Ask the question, open the answer, and up pops a Bing page, you are about to delete your search history - Yes - No

Job Done :O

And no, nothing mucky there, I just don't like something I have no control of.

Try a great free program called CCleaner, clears temp files etc from most browsers, and can also clean up the registry and help uninstall unwanted progs, delete old restore points etc. Been using it for years right back to Win98, recommended.

Just been sorting out a W10 desktop for a mate, was fine this morning, then this afternoon Edge stopped working, Chrome would do a Google but not go to the website, and hard drive chunnering away. Tried a restart, took ages. Got fed up, hit the power button for off. Powered on, still "restarting". 30 mins later it finally got going and things worked as normal. If this is what Microsoft considers acceptable I'm glad I stuck with W7.....

Think it was stuck installing an update. Would be nice if it told you so!

MS got a very large fine from the European Commission for doing something similar. Since you are still in the EU, why not pass along your comments to them:

Just turned the win 10 computer on to look something up and it is doing the latest large ("creators update"?) from MS.

Pain in the derrire!!

Oh well, use the Mint one instead.

It's time MS started giving people what, I think, they want, instead of what MS think they want.

Update, from start to finish (ie. Being able to use computer) was about 90minutes.

That is on an A10 with 16gb ram and a 50gb connection (although the download had occurred previously) what hope for those with slow laptops!!
