Hey there guys

i ve been reading lots of negative comments on CP, mainly from posts of 3 - 6 years ago.

i am from Brazil, i ve been living in the Philippines for 5 years now.
i really wanna start my flight training here - soon.

i know corruption is everywhere in here, and its not a secret.

i ve met 2 guys ( expats - my neighbors)
the are currently flying the 320 in CP
one is Russian the other guy is from Brunei. - they only share good things
i dont know how much biased are those comments.. both guys great pilots.

i wish to know from you guys, have any of you get fresh news regarding the current scenario of CP?

my Plan is after flying as FI for sometime jump to the ATR ( i like that horse)

Thank you guys for feeding this forum with so much valuable info.

Yes, there are pilots there that like it because they don't know better, and they won't speak out publicaly about what really goes on. In private there are many disgruntled employees. Since most have no options to go anywhere else they just stay and endure.

CP is still the bottom of the barrel in the airline world when it comes to pay, benefits, schedule, training and employee treatment.

Getting your license in the Philippines is also a bad deal. Lots of corruption and a CAAP pilot license is fairly worthless anywhere else in the world.

Go find out for yourself.

HR keeps pay secretive, and for a reason.

HR keeps pay secretive, and for a reason. Why do they keep it a secret? You have a ballpark idea, what the numbers are?

They keep it secret because no one is paid the same. They have varying pay scales depending on who the pilot is.

Also, because they are a bottom feeder of the airline world they don't want their pay scales known because then it becomes painfully obvious just how bad it is there.

If you want low pay, horrible schedules, the worst training and absolute morons masquerading as managers, then CP maybe for you.

I have never actually been to the Philippines, however I worked closely with a colleague in my former airline who was Filipino and he told me a thing or two about the country.

If you want to have a successful career, do not do your license there.

Do not get involved with there. Forget the pay2fly disease that was once rampant in Europe, because in the Philippines, you have to bribe someone to even let you pay them do pay2fly :E

Honestly, go to Brazil and do your license and if you can I suggest you try to work there.

You will experience nothing but a nightmare dealing with officials in that country, you will have to bribe your way into everything. You yourself said you know it's corrupt. Don't think it is different in their aviation, I have been told that it is one of the biggest examples of corruption in that country.

I wouldn't like to spend a lot of money to be at the mercy of those cowboys.

If you want a bigger chance of success, look elsewhere.

Filipinos usually have great Pinoy proud too ... so you know it's really bad when you hear someone tell you all of the above!
