It's with a sad heart that I advise everyone who knew Miles, that he passed away peacefully at Mt Barker,WA on 29th May 2017.

He was aged 88, and had been in failing health for several years.

Miles had a long and productive aviation career, beginning with gaining a CPL at the old Maylands Airport in Perth in the mid 1950's, and as one of our earliest ag pilots - spreading superphosphate out of a Tiger Moth. He graduated to a PA-25 Pawnee, and spent many productive ag flying years in the Coorow district of WA. Miles owned 2 Cessna 180's in his post ag lifetime, and also built and flew 3 VANS RVs. He conducted first flights in over 20 RVs constructed in the region. He was an inaugural member of the Albany formation team.

Miles was a long term member of SAAA, and his wisdom and flying skills will be sorely missed in our region.

A service will be held at Souness Park, Mt Barker WA at 10.00 on Thursday 8th June,2017. A flypast of RV's will follow this service at 1055 over the Mt Barker Cemetery, followed by a flypast of Miles' built RV6s, MMF and EMF
