If I may add to Wander's thread, there's an annual commemoration of the activities of the Comet Line further south in the Pays Basque for PPRuNers interested in WWII evaders in SW France. Each year, over the course of a long September weekend, we commemorate the courage of those who volunteered to help evading Allied aircrew and we retrace one of the routes over the Pyrenees - with a slight difference: what they did in one night, we do in two days. Plus we've had to abandon the thrill of being shot at..('Elf 'n safety)
This year, the dates to note for your diary are 8-10th September. Details of the programme will be posted shortly on our site (http://cometepaysbasque.********.fr/) in French and English. (In the meantime, last year's programme (http://cometepaysbasque.********.fr/2016/05/17-comete-commemorative-weekend-9-10-11.html) is still shown and the costs will be broadly similar)
NB If the links don't work, google Cometepaysbasque. Our association is "Les amis du réseau Comète" (Friends of the Comet Line).

Just replace the ***** in the link with the word "b log spot" without the spaces.
