I just got my Easa B1.1 License in August last year issued by CAA UK.As per my understanding,if i want to get the type rating endorse on my licence, i have to enroll in part 147 school which conducting the course and providing OJT and Structure OJT in UK.Is that true ? If yes, do you guys any place that conductiong the whole lot and how mcuh roughly it will cost and the duration ? Was thinking on Airbus family.

Dont mean to burst your bubble but .......... If I were you, I would get a better understanding of Part 66 and the requirements as your not ready for type training if you need to ask this kind of question.

But to answer. You will need to do (and I will only cover group 1 aircraft here) Part 147 Theory & Practical Training and APPROVED OJT within an approved Part 145, it can be with any member state, be careful if you go to an EASA approved organisation as you wont be able to support your application with the documents required for type rating issue as they are not a competent authority.
The UK CAA has published several information notices on this topic on the web site. Most organisations in your part of the world are EASA approved so buyer beware.

Im sorry for my late reply as i was busy with work.

I heard rumors, had asked my Quality department and they said its hard to get the initial rating as i need to do the structure OJT.My company has a 147 approval to conduct the theory and OJT.I email CAA UK,and here is the reply:

We will only accept OJT that is conducted with a Part-145 organisation that has been approved by the competent authority of an EASA member state, and whose MOE includes approved OJT procedures. The theoretical and practical type training may be completed with an approved EASA Part-147 organisation.

"be careful if you go to an EASA approved organisation as you wont be able to support your application with the documents required for type rating issue as they are not a competent authority."

May i know what do you mean with those ? or the organisation need to be CAA UK approved as my license from there and it must be done in the UK ?

Im confused and i really need to understand this before i decide to go for the course.I dont want to waste money if i couldnt get it endorsed on my license.

Really appreciate your reply.

OJT needs to be approved by the authority that issued the licence. EASA dont issue licences, Simples.
Any EASA 145 could be an issue, it would depend on who they (EASA) contracted the oversight to (Member State) and if they are willing to support it. From what I have heard thus far EASA wont support your OJT with a letter, as I said buyer beware.

You have to work for a company that has the procedure in place and approved by the NRA of the company in question for the On The Job Training. It is not a course.. It is do the tasks under the supervision of an OJT trainer that is approved as such by the company. You have to do 50% of the tasks listed by the OJT package that the 145 company has produced from the Annex list in PART 66. You do the job on actual aircraft and actual tasks and it is recorded on the OJT sheets with the details from the work pack or tech log. You may if you are lucky get it done in a year, Hopefully 2 years.. It may take you 4 years like me and I had to do the full type course and practical elements again (2 years of that was waiting for the company to sort the OJT procedure out and a year before I could seriously get any OJT sorted out!). It is not a give it to me course, you learn the type and earn the rating!

OJT shall cover a cross section of tasks acceptable to the competent authority, the AMC only give the content at 50% from appendix II tasks not the percentage completion of OJT. Industry needs to read that again.

Storm Aviation in UK does SOJT for first type in A320. It is a 6 weeks schedule. If your type course is a part 147, then you can endorse.
