I know, its an old one on Mar 15, 2016. Searched and couldn't find any more info.

According to Flight International's annual accident/incident list....

"Inbound from Shanghai, the aircraft sustained major damage in a hard landing". Sounds like that could be an exaggeration.

Less than two months earlier, the listing says for a CX A330....

"The main undercarriage was damaged in a hard landing" which was in Zuhai.

Interesting.

Three days later after almost 2000 views and not one response about two hard landings in the company that caused damage.

Meanwhile, by the time three days had passed after the post in this very forum concerning a Dragonair A330 hard landing in Penang, there were 24 posts and the thread was locked by the moderater soon after, for whatever reason it was.

http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/568070-dragonair-a333-structural-damage-2.html

Could there be any particular reason for the different style of responses on these two threads?

Not everyone on here is a cathay pilot, plenty of other airlines in the fragrant harbour and many people just browsing different forums. Most would probably not know about the incidents you are referring to.

Suppposed event(s)? I suppose it could be fake news from Flight International but the publication is fairly credible.

honestly no one knows that you are referring to. Sometimes landings get reported as hard and then after an inspection no damage etc is found. So there is no reason for it to come to a forum

We don't blame.

Therefore it never happened.

You are correct....it was B-HKT as the registration listed in the Fight International accident/incident list. AS for the A330, its registration is B-LAZ on Jan 23, 2016. Ideally, world class airlines provide info to their pilots about incidents in order to prevent them from happening again but obviously this is not always the case.

I did find a separate 100 post thread on PPrune about that Dragonair landing which it turns out, has a very brief mention over a couple of posts about the CX A330 hard landing. Sounds like it could have been training in poor weather of some sort. Now I see why the location was Zuhai. Any details?
