Hey guys and girls. I have a short basic skills assessment on a dash 8 300 sim for a large company(USA) in a few weeks. Can someone out there please give me an idea of what to expect? The operator knows and has told me they are aware I have not flown this or any turboprop a/c before, only piston twins, so they say this will be taken that into consideration.

Is it worth getting a dash 8 add on and practice that way? I assume a few days b fore I will b emailed some more specific details.
Thanks in advance. I am posting here because off past very positive, practical, and useful:ok:

I personally found that useful, as it would assist you in using some specific flight instruments to your advantage. For instance nailing airspeed using the airspeed drum, and lateral tracking with the expanded localiser deviation scale. If you're coming from GA, the sky pointer design of the attitude indicator has been known to catch guys out. Know your speeds, powers and attitudes well going in. Good luck.
