Hi All -

I'm currently an instrument rated private pilot, soon-to-be CFII (MEL, perhaps with Roto Comm+CFI Add-on) in American interested in FI positions in SE Asia.

I've found a few (outdated) threads on here that note minimum instruction time given req'd varies by country. I spent two years teaching math in Vietnam so I am aware of the bureaucratic struggles of the region.

A friend of a friend was a helicopter instructor in S Korea shortly after earning her CFI. I am interested in doing something similar, perhaps in any of {Malaysia, Indonesia, SKorea, China, Thailand, Vietnam(?), Singapore(?), or the Phillipines (?)}

Does anyone have more recent insider information as to opps in these places for low hour expat CFIs?

Some US Air bases have aero clubs, and they are all looking for CFIs. There is Yokota AFB and Kadena AFB in Japan. I'm actually planning on getting my CFI and start working at Yokota this summer. They won't sponsor your residence status in Japan though.
