Anyone seen the Google Earth latest photo of Rashaba airport in the Yemen? Looks like it has taken a major hit from the Saudi's (US). Not too sure how old the latest sat photo is but there are a number of Russian aircraft trashed looks like a couple of IL 76's plus fighters in revetments..., hangars and ops areas badly damaged.

Can anyone throw any light on this?

Bombed by the Saudis in April of 2015 -

I'm interested to know how that 747 ended up about 350' off the taxiway.

TheWestCoast..., thanks for the info. Looks like either the Saudi's or the US are still using the old RAF base at Khormaksar in Aden as a support for their Yemen strikes. There appear to be a number of military aircraft/helicopters parked on the pan in the latest Google sat photo. Previous photos have shown up to 20 mixed helicopter/FW using this base.

It's funny where these things take you. I ended up at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and found some aircraft I couldn't identify at;

29°20'38.6"N 47°32'01.0"E
29.344063, 47.533604

There's a few further south of this one but image quality isn't great.

Beechcraft twin, P3 and C130 atb the 'pinned' location. Elsewhere, multitude of C130 and C17

Have a look at Tarbela Dam Airport, Pakistan. A nice helicopter staging post some 34NM SW of Abbottabad. Not a lot there in 2001, but was upgraded before 2005.

Yeah, the P3 I made, but it just seemed too large a wingspan for a C130. Could be many factors that could cause that but C130 seems the likeliest suspect. :)

There are also a couple of Reaper/Predator drones on the other side of the runway.
