All five bases now closed. Crews finished. Cobham now holds the duty.

A nice summary of the operation is currently on YouTube - https://youtu.be/UrSHr_qOk4Y (AeroRescue Farewell). Well worth a look.

Twelve-years of good and useful work, all done very well. A continuous safety service provided to all aviators, mariners and Australians generally. Some international work done also.

Great aircraft, great systems. But most importantly, great people - it was the organisational culture and staff competence that really made it a great (world-class) capability.

Well done all involved - the flight crews, maintenance personnel and support staff. It was always evident that the staff were enthusiastic and strongly committed to SAR and the other public safety tasks performed by this organisation.

Thanks to the Paspaley family for the vision and support that made it all happen.

You helped many. You made a difference - there were many firsts. You quietly got on with doing an important job that was often challenging and unpleasant. You all have much to be proud of.

Well done all, thankyou and good luck with whatever comes next.

I would like to second the above. A credit to all involved, may everyone move on to bigger and better things now. Lets hope the next chapter in search and rescue is equally as good
