Yes - the impending departure from the EU has apparently been very bad indeed for the UK's airports ....

The word "impending" is key. We're still in, and will be for minimum 2 years, which is an eternity in the short term world in which we now live. Routes and services can be cut quicker than they are announced, ask any customer of Flybe or Ryanair!

Hopefully "it'll be alright on the night" and that is what airports and airlines will be hoping for, whilst some such as Ryanair, who have said they won't base any more aircraft in UK, and Easyjet said to be exploring an EU AOC are clearly hedging their bets.

And Wizzair, who said after the vote they would be directing capacity increases away from the UK, has just announced a new base at Luton. Funny thing is, our pound vs euro exchange rate has been at this level lots of times over the last 10 years, with hardly a word said. Now, it's all the fault of Brexit, funny that. Roll on the day we are out before if all blows up.

Cozy F.

Unfortunately I suspect that your comment is closer to the truth than you might have imagined.

What is happening here is a flurry of activity both inbound from Europe and outbound from the UK while its still possible. 18 months from now and I suspect that a lot of the traffic will have evaporated away.

I sincerely hope that this is not the case, but the political effects and associated immigration controls post BREXIT will screw things up in a way only the Disunited Kingdom can achieve.

EU falling in a big heap.I hope there is a nice long wall we can all sit and watch from
