An interesting concept but as the article says, Babcock are not unused to such an arrangement.

Happens reasonably frequently globally. Chevron and Exxon are def OilCo who have bought their ac (and operate too) on occasions. It makes sense when you add the cost of capital /finance. The maths usually adds up in 7 years or so so if your field has longer life than that then buy and save. Just pray your type isn't grounded.

Just talking to some MCS management a moment ago and the reporting appears incorrect. It's just a normal leasing arrangement by MCS for the client.
