Hello, I'm going to be stuck in Auckland for
an afternoon (Friday). Flying at 8.30 pm. Bag drop will open
at 5.30 pm. Is it worth getting the bus into town, where to &
what to do/see ?
Thanks for advice.

I haven't been to Auckland in ages, but I'd say at that time, on a Friday afternoon, there's a good chance the traffic will be bad enough that you'll almost have time to get into town before needing to get on a bus or taxi back to the airport.

Someone who lives there may be along to indicate otherwise (I hope so), but I wouldn't be optimistic.

Auckland traffic is a nightmare to say the least. I'd suggest doing something in or around the airport. Butterfly creek has a cafe and you'd kill an hour easily walking there and back. There's also a gym nearby if you're that way inclined (I've heard they will do a casual rate of $15).

Crazy golf? This place was great when we had time to kill at the airport :ok::ok::}
