Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the Ryanair Cadet Programme for me. I have read as much as I could so far and can't realy find any solid source as to the salary of a graduate from the FR cadet programme. The reason I ask is because for any Pilot prepared to take the 30k gamble on top of other training and not know wether it will pay itself back is kinda worrying.Like most, my biggest concern would be clearing that debt but being able to live at the sane time. I have worked for Ryanair on the ground and know the operation well but it is just this one factor stopping me aiming towards the cadet scheme and hopefully having a shiny B737-8/MAX to take for a spin around europe. Any answers appreciated..

(Have seen another post on PPrune since posting explaining the contract agencies, 5 months no pay etc) any other info still welcome 🙂

I asked and was told that the entire contract is 25000 £ for one year, but the graduate programme from start to end is 1-2 month. I find it hard to believe that the cadet can enroll in the type rating after this period and get payed that much. If anyone can verify this information, please advise.

I am interested as well in the differences between going through the CAE route vs applying for the MCC/JOC and enrolling the cadet scheme. With CAE the Typerating will cost 29.500, non bonded. Does anyone has actual numbers about the costs of the MCC/JOC and how much salary is deducted for how many years on the cadet scheme?

Just trying to work out whether to apply for CAE or the cadet scheme.

It's impossible to give an accurate figure for Ryanair FO salary, as there are so many different types of contracts available across the Ryanair network and also depending on when you joined and what level you joined at. The first 6 months during TR and line training you are paid nothing. Most Ryanair FOs earn about €3k~3.5k/mth, however that is a very rough average as it will depend on base, hours flown and experience. Don't expect to earn that in the first 16 months.
