Interesting to compare the top two photos showing (above) what the aircraft would have looked like in its original C-119B configuration and (below) after conversion around 1955/56 to a C-119C (ventral fins added, tailplane extensions removed).

The way I remember the distinction is too rude to mention in polite company...
