Reports are that a Cessna Citation is missing over (in) Lake Erie, southern Ontario.

This lake is known for its wicked winter weather, worsened by what are known as snow streamers, long snow producing clouds which form downwind of open water, and create lots of snow at lower altitudes.

It's been closer to freezing than normal lately, so what would normally be sub zero snow, has more been at zero freezing drizzle and rain - not so welcoming for flying. I observe that global warming is a reality, and it makes southern Ontario winters much less nice.

The site appears to be Lake Erie, just offshore perhaps 2-3 miles from Cleveland Lakefront airport; thus in US territory, not Canada.
