A relative has booked Durban LHR via Istanbul on Turkish airlines. They will be in economy how good are they?

I think the first leg is 777 and wonder if seat pitch etc is good.

Have you tried a search on this forum? I only ask because I seem to recall a similar question in the past year or two and it had quite a few responses.

Searching thread titles for 'Turkish' provides a fair list.

My sister has just returned from a trip to Mumbai with them . Amsterdam via Istanbul. She was very happy with them.

I've only travelled with them in Biz and the onboard service was very good but I would say their website is less than helpful and, when in transit at IST, make sure you have enough time. It is very large and the information and sign boards not of the best.

Thanks for helpful replies. I agree entirely with PAXboy reference their website.

I noticed on FlightBoard that the sector Istanbul to LHR is a 777 that's not usual is it?

Their B777s fly regularly into LHR. TK1985/1986 is generally operated by B773 or A333, depending on the day.

Ditto TK1979/1980 - both today's rotations are 77Ws.

In the context of their competition it's a better experience than most in economy. Biz class is also good.
