A mate was asking me about this.... last Thursday, departed Ballarat, flew across Port Phillip bay, 300ft all over Melbourne seemingly randomly, dipped lower at Moorabbin then flew off again.
Obstacle survey perhaps?

Its a Cessna Conquest on flight procedure validation, this includes obstacle inspection. They were in that area last week.

A mate called up saying I'm in the know on these things and asked if I knew. I seem to recall something similar on here a couple of years back. So I innocently posted.
Apparently people were calling up 3AW throughout the day asking WTF as it shook their windows.
Next time I post I'll ask myself if I already know the answer to what I am posting and then not post. Sorry.
