Hi,

I did apply few weeks ago but didn't received any answer yet. They close the portal on the 30th of November so I guess they will need some time to go through all the resume they received.

I would not expect answer before January as the interviews are plann

I had an email today saying that I've been unsuccessful :hmm:

Same here.

Mlambin

@Flyhigh788: this is more interesting.

As you are both not Belgian maybe they want to take Belgian people.

Don't worry too mich about that.

Today it is reveilled that Lufthansa will acquire the total 100% of Brussels. but will not give any job security.

Nice perspective if you ask me :(

Does anyone know the selection process ?
Group and inidividual interview, sim ride ?

SeventhHeaven
9th Dec 2016, 17:59
The selection would be 3 consecutive days halfway through January - Nobody has been invited yet.

It has been years since they opened up for ab initio hiring, and they've changed a lot since then. Nobody knows how they'll do their selection nowadays.

It's Belgium, so expect some bull**** ATPL theory test. They'll make up their own questions, and will ask you stuff and to draw graphs you wouldn't have had to know for the ATPLs.

Good luck if you get invited!

Why being so negative about Belgium ?

Rejected, I'm not Belgian... A320 TR

10th Dec 2016, 08:46
Same here ! A320 TR.

I've just made my own thoughts about this company. Since they have merged with Lufthansa they have already a bunch of candidates inside the Lufthansa Group who already possess the DLR. Why then look elsewhere ?? They are just doing their marketing strategy by apparently opening pilot positions for outsiders to apply, though these positions may not exist in reality. We will never know.

Best of luck for all those who were invited !

when did you apply?

for those who were rejected...university degree or similar on your educational background?

anyway, best of luck for everyone and those who have been discarded...keep going, lots of new things coming up within the next months.

Not a airline for low timers.

Not a airline for low timers.
Couldn't be further from the truth actually, I have a friend who joined SN with 400hrs on type (A320) and around 600h TT at the age of 21 or 22. I also got the e-mail saying I was unsuccessful (I have +300h TT, no time on type).

10th Dec 2016, 23:03
A friend of mine joined Brussels last year with a few hundred hours only but was rated A32F.

Anybody received a positive mail ?

I'm still waiting for a response so maybe this is a positive sign.

Does anyone have an idea about the selection process?
Theoretical questions? sim check? interview?
Any info is appreciated!

Also still in the loop but very reluctant in accepting. If i see what is going on, low chance to get an upgrade and high taxes, i better stay with my old job.

And another rejection to stick to my motivational wall - I'm saving a fortune on wallpaper at least!

Just got rejected. I had big hopes on this one. Dboy if you don't go, do not hesitate to tell them to call me as substitute ^^

SeventhHeaven
14th Dec 2016, 17:06
Dboy, if you are who I think you are, with an ATP offer on the table, I would sell my soul for that opportunity over this one :) Even if it's a SSTR on an old bird!

dboy
14th Dec 2016, 17:23
Well SeventhHeaven i have no clue who you are but after almost 10 years working the same company i am still looking for a change. Yes this might be an opportunity but i guess Brussels is now very unsecure, especially now with Lufthansa. Well 1 positive note, i still have a flying job and somehow stability.

Mlambin
14th Dec 2016, 17:55
@dboy: what's your background ? Few people said they been rejecte with type and hours on A320.

This unsuccessful mail hurts for me as Belgian.

SeventhHeaven
14th Dec 2016, 19:29
Don't let it get to you mate; Plenty of other airlines out there. Belgian aviation may not like to admit to it, but they're not the tip of the sword they aspire to be :)

If you ever get a decent offer abroad you'll realise you've got the better end of the stick :)

Hi there !

Got an invitation !

My profile : 1400TT, TR on turboprop, french, english, intermediate in dutch, and bases in german.

Anyone got detailed infos about the theory test, please PM me :) (just to know where I have to concentrate my studies, I don't think I can study the whole ATPL + Jepp in just one month)

Hi there,

I received an invitation to attend the selections. Profile: ab initio, just graduated in October and have pretty good knowledge of Dutch, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Likewise, if anyone knows anything about the theoretical tests and the rest of the selection process, any tips are more than welcome! :)

Hi Marchetti,

Did you receive an invitation from them?

I have no further information about the selection unfortunately

9th Oct 2018, 06:43
I've heard some selections will take place on November, no news at the time.
The last guys started with a theoretical test ( Weather chart, Performance, Operational ) , then next day an interview with HR and a Pilot and they ended up with a 737NG sim test ( Climb out of BRU 25R 3000 FT right turn climb and turn with constant speed and R/C, vectoring ils 25R, G/A engine -1, level off 2000FT clean up , freeze and repositioning on final to perform a complete landing ).

Keep you in the loop if news are coming

I am invited for November! Do you know what kind of theoretical questions they will ask during the interview?

riegercar
16th Oct 2018, 13:39
Mainly talking about these subjects : a lot of symbols from sig chart, some perfo calculations like go-around, departure distance/altitude on a chart ( they are using another chart than jeppesen with more colors ), holding calculation, what is metar cavok , worst engine failure in a 4 engine a/c, drag vs lift curve.

Basically a good review off the jeppesen general and ATPL Oxford or similar will be successful

Hello guys, thanks for the info posted. However, I am wondering why SN would organise simulator screening on B737 when they only have Airbus ? Can someone confirm this info?

Genesis5
22nd Oct 2018, 17:23
The A320 sim might have not been available at that moment. That could be a reason. Or maybe they realized the best way to check someone's flying skills is to do it on a Boeing ;)

I am invited for the assessment day.
Who knows more about the technical quiz?

Hi everyone,
One quick question, is only English necessary to apply? I can't understand too much from the website.
Thanks

Hi ,

This is correct. They used to ask Dutch and French, now with the lack of pilot French/Dutch are an asset but not a requirement anymore.

First-Officer A320 (temporary contract)

Hi all.
Is there any guy rated (A320) who invited for assessment?

Hallo,

Is there any one having recent asked questions on day one theoretical interview at Brussels Airlines?

Thx

riegercar
4th Feb 2019, 12:21
They use to take the same questions bank. In the past : Jeppesen and your atpl books were very sufficient to pass the test .

Cat C aircraft operation ( speed , turn , holding, circling approach, go around 3 types ) , weather chart all symbols metar taf decode , fuel required for a trip , sid on lido chart, climb gradient , drag vs lift curve, altitude correction due to temperature.

Nothing surprising
