The key is to choose an agency that is not going to abandon you as soon as you sign the contract.

China is a different beast than other Asian countries like Korea and Japan. The agencies only receive a one-time recruiting bonus for a pilot in China unlike Korea and Japan where the agencies get a monthly bonus throughout a pilot contract. Most agencies are essentially gone from the scene in China after you finish training. You will not get much if any service at most agencies after training is complete. The key to contract compliance is the willingness to stand up to an airline or as a group demand compliance. Essentially in China you are much more on your own. If you do your job, rarely call in sick and have low QAR numbers and complete your contract you will be released and free to change jobs after your contract is complete. Trying to move in China is not easy but possible if you plan and prepare for it.

On the same topic but slightly different question, how come the salaries differ between companies, even sometimes at the same base you can have 2 companies offering different pay (more overtime, higher monthly basic)? What would be the reason that you would go for the lower amount if its the same base? Is it based on the environment at those companies or the standard is higher or what?

Thanks
