Garden Villages

Does anyone have any detail on these "Garden Village" proposals that seem to be springing up all over GA airfields in the UK at the moment?

They should leave the RWY, and build houses around it and call it the flying garden or something, instead of shutting them down :)
I guess that will only work in US.
