Could someone please assist with the contact details (email that works) for the Burundi CAA for overflight permits. The email on their website returns :ugh:

It's VERY easy to avoid the entire country. Rwanda is much more accommodating as is uganda and Tanzania. It's also a PITA to do anything aviation related in the country. For example, Air Burundi has two brand new Chinese turboprops that have never flown a single revenue flight since delivery due to politics and their CAA. Any operation will require a ground handler who is local and this will still not cure any number of problems from loaders, fuel, permits and airport "police". You will very rarely encounter an aircraft at Bujumbura other than RwandAir, SN Brussels and KQ. There is a reason for this. Burundi is essentially a failed state, bordering on civil war, cut off from the international community and hostile to its neighbors. It's a shame too as Bujumbura is a blast, the women are tall and sultry, the food has a Gaelic flare and there is a zest for life among her population. Additionally, Burundi is a difficult country to operate in due to her terrain. The MSA is around 13,000 and the runway is at around 2000 feet. There's the second deepest lake in the world to the south and massive mountains to the north, east and west.

Oh, the CAA is horribly corrupt, controllers are typically drunk and once again, make note of my "failed state" label. Also at high level, you'll be under Dar es Salaam control.
