There's also a report on the Herald Sun website with some more details. I'm not as clever as Spinex though so I can't upload a link..!

Well done to the pilot to walk away from it (relatively) unscathed http://cdn.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif

Same type as Harrison Ford forced landed on a Golf Course in LA a while back isn't it?

spinex didn't do so well with news hidden behind a paywall (Herald Sun), however there is a little more here; Lucky escape after freeway plane crash | MPNEWS (http://mpnews.com.au/2016/11/15/lucky-escape-after-freeway-plane-crash/)

I think Harrison Ford's was a similar model Ryan, although from memory his had a radial up front.

Bent aircraft, hurt pride but safe pilot - that's what counts.

I was a bit luckier I had a total engine failure in a chippy VH RTW over Frankston Golf Course. Did a dead stick onto the longest fairway.

Best day I ever had. Me a 32 year old and it was ladies day. Lunch bought by the ladies and they all lined the fairway after it was fixed to watch the take off.

Only damage done was the TV crew helicopter who decided to land on green.

Unless there are two people with the name of Graham Hosking in the aviation industry, this is the same guy who was with Guido Zuccoli back in 1997 when Guido's newly restored T6 Harvard crashed soon after take off from Tindal Air Force base in Australia's Northern Territory. If so, he is a very lucky man to have survived two plane crashes!
Back in my early days in the industry he (Graham) used to own Chieftain VH-OFF.

Presumably the same GH that owns the Corsair...

Yes, one and the same. Graeme's a lovely humble bloke who loves a chat about flying, or anything else.

I hope he is ok and back in the air soon.

He told me not only did he have VH-OFF but a great matching rego at same time.

Agree top bloke.

A fine man indeed is GH.
''Twas a ride in a Ryan with GH at the controls from Laverton in the late 80's that sparked my imagination!
Best wishes!
