Long-term aviators of the Whitsunday Coast may be interested to know that ATC Bart Munoz has retired recently. Bart was ex-PATCO US (Denver, Colorado) and post Reagan sacking them one of a good many that were recruited strategically to Australia. Some didn't stay long but a few, like Bart, made a new life here. Through the 90's Bart was staffing Proserpine and Hamilton Island towers.
He last worked Brisbane sectors to the north and north-west of Sydney, but for the last few years was not at the coal-face but employed, most effectively, as a simulator training mentor for recruits to those Brisbane sectors. A nicer guy you could not meet...and nothing has changed, still has that same happy, friendly, helpful demeanour

If I remember correctly he was the creator of one of Australia's finest beers, "Boree Max". That is certainly the jewel in the crown.

Well done Bart, obviously something stuck!
