From an article from the Times of London :

A Qantas captain made a marriage proposal to his girl friend over the public address system. An arranged camera crew filmed the incident. He then presented her with a bunch of flowers.

Makes a change from all the serious stuff.

I proposed to the lady who became my wife in our suite in the Martinez hotel in Cannes. Candlelight and fancy bottle of Champagne. We didn't have a hundred fellow travellers to share in the experience.
