Hi,

Wondering if anyone has experience of trying to plan a flight on SkyDemon using VORs. Google isn't helping...!

Suppose one was to want to fly to Cambridge from Peterborough. You would want to track the Barkyway down to Gransden Lodge then go 'across' to Cambridge on their NDB.

Is there anyway to get SkyDemon to plot this? You could either plot all the way down to the Barkway and go back up to Camrbidge (waste of fuel!) or, stick a waypoint around Gransden and go across, but then SkyDemon wouldn't know you were tracking the Barkway etc.

Thanks :)

Surely its enough just for you to know you are tracking Barkway? SkyDemon doesn't really need to "know" that; it only needs to know your planned turning point...

However, you can create a user waypoint with a known distance and bearing relative to BKY. Make sure to give it a name with all capitals, no spaces or unusual characters, (perhaps BKYTRACK in your case?) so that when you use the new route window to create a new route you can type the name of that waypoint into the routing field. SkyDemon will then automatically drop a turning point into your route there, between your takeoff and landing airfields.

[editing to add] It occurs to me that there is also another function in SkyDemon that might be useful for you. In "Navigation Options" at the bottom of the list is "Track Radial". Switching this on allows the "Track Radial" option to appear in the "What's Here" menu for waypoints while navigating, and you can enter a radial within that option to draw a line on the chart independent from your regular route line.
