It's with the heaviest of hearts I post for all who aren't yet informed, the sudden passing of Captain Ross Dennerstein.
Ross was a Flying Operations Development Manager and Melbourne based A320 Captain with Jetstar.
Ross has a fine professional history, having been a Captain with Qantas, Flying Operations Inspector with CASA and most recently his appointment at Jetstar in 2011.
Ross was one of the kindest most empathetic men in the business. His technical expertise exceptional; the development of RNP-AR into JQ as CASA regulatory specialist, management of governance around the removal of circling approach's in JQ operations and most recently successful application of NZQN night operations are just some examples of his contribution to operational safety and personnel leadership.
In an age sadly seemingly devoid of ethics, Ross represented the highest of moral integrity; a true mentor to many young pilots.
On behalf of those that were privileged to have known Ross in industry, may I offer our sincerest condolences to his wonderful family, we're all here with you at this tragic time.

Wow.

RIP Ross. He was only 5 weeks older than me. That certainly hits home.

I happened to be one of the last F/O's as I was at that time that Ross flew with at Qantas before he got sick and lost his medical. I was delighted to see him about 5 years later walk around a corner at Brisbane Airport and now with Jetstar.

My kids still love that Wiggles clip he arranged and they are not little anymore!

Ross was 47 years of age at the time of his death from a sudden cardiac arrest; a form of heart attack that kills 25,000 Australians each year. Many are fit and young people. Following his death Ross's wife Penny set up a trust in his name to fund a world-first registry and genetic database in Melbourne. The fund will enable research into sudden cardiac arrest, by examining the blood samples of those under 50 who have survived or died from this silent killer.

Clinics will be established in Melbourne at St Vincent’s, The Alfred, Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s hospitals.
