Long time since I posted here about Luton in the 1950s and details of a Proctor and a Saab Safir but I had an email out of the blue from a guy up in Northumberland who found out what happened to G-ANOK and apparently the plane last flew in 1971 but had a few romantically attached owners after it was sold by Kelvin and Hughes in the 1960s. The plane found its way to the museum of flight in East Fortune Scotland and then was removed from there by a Mr Galt living in Selkirk and he intended to rebuild the aircraft and put it back in service but sadly he died and was not able to complete or start the project. The fellow in Northumberland bought the plane and trailered it home to a big barn hangar by a grass runway and he intends to spend 2 years rebuilding the plane and getting it airworthy. This it is hoped will take 2 years.
I would love to have a flight in the aircraft but unfortunately due to a serious road accident in 2014 - i have lost a whole leg and don't believe I could climb up the wing to get into the cockpit without a crane! Anyhow I shall be delighted to see G-ANOK when it finally gets to fly again. My accident is the reason I haven't been back to this forum as I was hospitalized for 20 weeks in 2014 and its a long hard road back to walking with a bionic leg.
