Great stuff, but I can't help thinking they should have included at least a line or two from the late John Denver himself....seeing as he was "instrumental" in the main theme song.

Oh well, here he is:

The 'Man in Black' and KR were also missed :(

vulcanised, good one :ok:

Got to admit though, I'd rather my daughter date a country boy than a city slicker.

Reminds me of the great scene in the Blues Brothers when Jake and Elwood turn up at Bob's Country Bunker for a gig.

Now we really are going back!

Is this one of the first ever "country music rap" records?

Country can take many forms and that is what makes it so attractive to people all around the World.

After all....we can trace ours back to the UK if we go back far enough.

One of my favorite songs is this one about one of our American Eagles.

John Denver was a great singer/songwriter and I enjoyed his performances very much; however, I regard his music as "soft" Country as opposed to "hard core"
His dad "Dutch" used to fly a B58 and was running a Learjet charter operation with his son.

Maybe so, but the original post is all about a video based on one of his most well known songs...

As the Waterboys sang
Well he's sure to be wearing a Stetson
He's as long and as thin as a plank
He's got a fistful of charm
And a gun beneath his arm
Has anybody here seen Hank

Any thing by Hank Williams and I'm fond of Garth Brooks Low Places but this is my favourite, not the original but the videos a hoot. ! :}

I've grown to appreciate country music as I have aged, but still quite like it a bit 'edgy'.
This is wonderfully chaotic

I'm a big fan of David Allan Coe

Here's a section of the lyrics from "You Never Even Called Me by My Name" -

Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song
And he told me it was the perfect country and western song
I wrote him back a letter
And I told him it was not the perfect country and western song
Because he hadn't said anything at all about mama,
Or trains,
Or trucks,
Or prison,
Or getting' drunk
Well he sat down and wrote another verse to the song
And he sent it to me,
And after reading it,
I realized that my friend had written the perfect
Country and western song
And I felt obliged to include it on this album
The last verse goes like this here:

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned old train
