Hi gents,

We are all aware of the 3 takeoff and landings every 3 months rule that applies to all passenger operations but...

What about ferry operations or similar?

May a freelance pilot legally operate a multi-engine piston a/c that he hasn't had a chance to fly within 3 months?

Thanks in advance!!:ok:

That's how we do recurrent training if needed. On POS legs.

Thanks Son of a Beech! Your help is much appreciated.

This rule is still a bit confusing to me, it's applicable for passenger operations on little a/c, however it is also considered to be a requirement to maintain a type rating, either as commander or first officer (the latter can use a FFS afaik)

What I am asking in fact is, if you go beyond 90 days but your class ratings are current, can you still operate single pilot on a multi-piston a/c for empty flights (positional or technical flights for private or commercial EASA operators).

Regards.

The answer to you question: On a MEP he will have to fly 3 circuits or empty legs to be current for pax. If you fly at night or IFR, you would have to conduct those at night or fly 3 instrument approaches respectively.

Understood, thanks!
