I wouldn't usually post about aircraft sightings, however, such is the rarity of the above it seems worth it.

Standing at the top of the Great Orme yesterday and, at about 10.45, what do we see ?..no less than four Hawks heading North to South at a leisurely amble....about 10 - 15 mins later, yet another four ship formation appears, again heading North to South....then, about 15 mins after this, comes another sighting, this time in line astern, all climbing on a roughly N.East heading.....the sound of four Adour's duly shattering the tranquillity as you would expect.

For those involved, you will be delighted to learn the great British public were suitably impressed with your appearance in the skies.....some of us however, were quite bemused at the sight of the FJ world working on a Saturday morning.

When did you last 'work' on a Saturday morning?

For clarity, handing out Momentum leaflets does not count as 'work'.

Quite impressed that one of the Socialist Workers was out of bed at 10:45, the dole office queue is usually too long at that time.

Must've been a mirage (yes, I know, I know). Saturday morning is for lawn mowing/car washing/supermarket trolley fatigue.

Was it the Reds in transit to/from a display?

Freedom parades this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. You saw a four ship of Hawk T2s operating from an alternative aerodrome. FJs flying on the weekend is rare but the chances of getting ATC to work are even more remote!

BV....thanks for the above :ok:...they were indeed shiny black T2's which, as I said, attracted the admiration of the public on the top of the Orme.

BC....since you asked, Aug 13 and 14th....all day in fact but if I told you what I was doing you would have to decide whether to reach for the smelling salts first.... or the de-fib.

In the 60s Valley flew Saturday one week of the month and not Monday (may have been Friday, long time ago) another week, so we studes could have a long weekend to get back to England once a month
