I've recently been offered a flying job in the US on the E3 visa and have been sent the supporting documents from my prospective employer to apply for the visa at a US consulate which involves an interview. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has been through such an interview and what it entails? Although I do have a uni degree, it's unrelated to aviation. Do you really require a relevant uni degree for this visa or do they ignore that requirement if you have significant industry experience such as hours in the logbook and ATPLs?

Any insights from anyone who has been through this process is highly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need 12 years flying in industry post CPL if your degree isn't aviation related.

I'm over here in the US on a green card but another Aussie flying here got an E3. He was first denied as a pilot but then re-applied and was approved as a 'firefighter' flying water bombing ships.

Hopes this helps.

How did your interview go? Did you get your E3 approved?
