Five people were killed Wednesday in a mid-air collision between a scheduled commuter plane and an adventure charter aircraft near Russian Mission, AK. The planes involved were a Cessna Caravan 208 with three persons aboard operated as Hageland/Ravn Alaska flight 3190 and a Piper PA-18 with two aboard operated by Renfro's Alaskan Adventures.

Hageland 3190 normally operates between Bethel (BET), Marshall (MLL) and Russian Mission (RSH). Now operating under the Ravn Alaska umbrella, Hageland came under FAA scrutiny following fatal crashes in 2013 and 2014. However, the NTSB have indicated they were satisfied with improvements made to the airline's operations since then.
