I know UK and EASA has been dragging on approving CAT SET-IMC ops in the state, and also that this might change within the next 6 months. However, just out of interest, would this type of operation be approved currently:

EASA AOC operatoring to various European countries at the present, and approved by its EASA state (non G-reg) for:
- "Single-engined turbined aeroplane operations at night or in IMC (SET-IMC)" (only limitation Two pilots required except for Cargo ops)
- "Areas of operation: EUR" (as far as I know, ICAO definition that includes Europe+Russia+Turkey). It does not say "EUR not including UK".

Could one park an aircraft under an AOC of this kind in the UK and operate there at the moment? If not, then what is your reference?

See Article 6.5 of Regulation 965/2012. My understanding is that the exemptions issued under Article 8(2) of Regulation 3922/91 were limited to the territory of Member State concerned unless the operator gained approval from another Member States for operations in its territory.

I actually did read that prior to posting, however it did not completely answer my question

Tume,

You may wish to read the UK Air Navigation Order 2016, Article 133, as well as EASA Opinion 06/2015. They may provide a some further guidance, if you haven't already discovered them.

Best Wishes,
